To change the application settings, select Settings->Preferences.... This opens the Preferences dialog, shown in Figure 6.
The properties in the Connection Options tab are:
The amount of time to wait for a response from the server before reconnecting and trying again. The value is in seconds.
The amount of time to wait between connection attempts when an error has occurred and we need to reconnect to the server. The value is in seconds.
The number of times to attempt to reconnect to the server when an error occurs before giving up.
Toggle whether hidden files should be displayed in the directory listings. Defaults to no.
Toggle whether data connections should be initiated with PASV which is needed for some firewalls. Defaults to yes.
Toggle whether to send NOP commands at regular intervals while idle to prevent the server from disconnecting you. Defaults to yes.
Choose how to behave when resuming an interrupted transfer. Always will always pick up where the transfer left off, Ask will bring up a dialog asking whether or not to resume, and Never will always discard any data that has already been transferred and start from the beginning.
The properties in the Appearance tab are:
The color that messages received from the FTP server will be displayed with in the console.
The color that messages sent to the FTP server will be displayed with in the console.
The color that informational messages will be displayed with in the console.
The color that error messages will be displayed with in the console.
The properties in the General tab are:
Toggles whether or not to monitor the clipboard for FTP URLs to add to the queue. The default is on.
Toggles whether or not to monitor the current text selection for an FTP URL to add to the queue. The default is off.
The properties in the Dir Layout allow you to customize what information is displayed in the directory listings. The properties in the tab are:
Columns that are not currently being shown in the local directory list.
Columns that are being displayed in the local directory list.
Columns that are not currently being shown in the remote directory list.
Columns that are being displayed in the remote directory list.
The properties in the Queue Layout tab are:
Columns that are not being shown in the queue.
Columns that are being shown in the queue.
After you have made all the changes you want, click on OK to apply the changes and close the Properties dialog. To cancel the changes and return to previous values, click the Close button.
